Pirates Sign QB Tasleem "Taz" Wilson

WORCESTER, MA - The Massachusetts Pirates have signed quarterback Tasleem "Taz" Wilson heading into this Saturday night's game against the Duke City Gladiators. Wilson has played this season with the Sioux Falls Storm in the Indoor Football League and with the Wyoming Mustangs of Champions Indoor Football.

Wilson, 6'4", 230 lb. from Stone Mountain, GA, played with the Storm in five games and was 34 of 58 passing (.59%) for 393 yards with seven touchdowns and two interceptions. He averaged 78.6 passing yards per game. Wilson also rushed 28 times for 64 yards averaging 2.3 yards per carry and 12.8 yards per contest.

Wilson was named the IFL Offensive Player of the Week in Week Two for his performance in a 38-36 win over the Bismarck Bucks, In that game Wilson was 8 of 14 passing for 187 yards and four touchdowns.

In his two contests in the CIF with Wyoming, Wilson threw two touchdown passes and rushed for four more.

The quarterback, who attended Trinity Valley Community College and Limestone University, signed with the Tucson Sugar Skulls in 2018 and saw action in two games in 2019 with the Bismarck Bucks. Wilson was with Bismarck in 2020 when that season was lost to the pandemic.

In 2021 Wilson signed with the Sioux Falls Storm but did not see action on the field until this season.
