Yakima Valley Pippins News Release

YAKIMA, Wash. - With temperatures heating up at The Orchard and throughout Yakima Valley this summer, the Yakima Valley Pippins are excited to announce a new partnership that will help keep Pippins fans cool throughout the remainder of the season.

The team and local Baskin-Robbins owners Dawn Charboneau have partnered to bring The Scoop to The Orchard. The Scoop will feature a rotation of Baskin-Robbins award-winning 31 flavors (not all of them every game!), scoop ice cream cones, waffle cones, root beer floats, and frozen blended coffees at a new concessions location located directly behind home plate, next to the Big Apple. Baskin-Robbins will serve as the official ice cream and blended coffee of the Yakima Valley Pippins.

"We had the baseball, the apple (pie), and now the ice cream to complete the All-American ballpark experience," said Pippins president Zachary Fraser. "We are excited to work with Dawn and her team to continue to look for ways to make the fan experience at The Orchard a memorable one.

"I am excited that it is a pair of locally owned branches that we get to work with."

Jose Lopez and the Lopez family own and operate the Baskin-Robbins located on Summitview Avenue in Yakima.

The Scoop will open for the first time at The Orchard on Friday, July 3rd as the Pippins welcome division rival Walla Walla Sweets for a key division battle. Northwest Cherries will be giving away 2015 team posters to the first 1,000 fans, and fireworks will follow the game.
