Wilkes-Barre, PA- The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are pleased to announce that Jurron Kelly has been reassigned to their 2005 roster by the af2.
"We're happy to have Jurron back with us this season," said Head Coach Les Moss. "He'll bring some great experience and a level of competition to the team."
Kelly, a 6'0 185 lb wide receiver/defensive back, played with the Pioneers in their 2004 campaign. In 15 games, Kelly had 53 receptions for 649 yards and 13 touchdowns. Kelly had 23 tackles (20 unassisted); one interception and one pass deflection.
In 2003, Kelly played three games for the Peoria Pirates. While there he had 16 receptions for 143 yard and three touchdowns. Defensively, he had 5 solo tackles.
Kelly played collegiate football at Kent State University. While there he ranked third in school history with 106 receptions and ninth with 1,224 receiving yards. He is also tied for ninth with seven career touchdowns. He also is in Kent State record books, ranked second in career receptions with 143, second in receiving yards at 1,703, fourth in most touchdown receptions with 12. He also ranks third in most punt returns with 50, third in punt return yards with 488 and fifth with the best punt return average of 9.76.
