Manchester Wolves News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H: (March 1, 2005) Two of the Wolves premier receivers Jonathan "J.J" McKelvey and Reggie Robinson will be bringing excitement to Manchester Wolves fans for a second season.
J.J McKelvey (WR/LB, 6'4" 225lb.) started his rookie season setting career bests with the Wolves with 7 receptions and 94 receiving yards against Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in a regular season game. McKelvey was also a two-time US Army Ironman of the Game award winner.
" I can't wait to play. This year's team seems like it will have great chemistry. Arena football is the best type of football in my opinion because the fans are great. They're so close to the field and they really get you pumped up," McKelvey said
Before joining the Wolves, J.J was one of Clemson's greatest receivers during his time with the Tigers. He made the top 15 in Tiger's history in receptions and reception yards, totaling 84 and 1,277 yards. He was also a special teams standout player.
Reggie Robinson (WR/LB, 6'3" 225lb.) had great numbers last season. He ranked second on the Wolves in receptions (64), scoring and receiving yards (882). Robinson was also an Ironman recipient, handed the award four times and was named co-winner of the ADT Defensive Player of the Game against Albany.
" I can't wait to come back to the Wolves and re-join my teammates, especially J.J. McKelvey," Robinson said.
Originally from Shreveport, LA, Robinson stayed in state and went to LSU to play football after graduating high school as a tri-athlete. He blossomed into a huge asset to the Tigers making 84 pass receptions for 1,180 yards and six touchdowns in his four year career at LSU, including setting a record for the third longest touchdown pass in school history with an 80 yard TD reception.
