Pioneer Jim Jones named to the American Conference All-af2 First Team

Wilkes-Barre, PA--The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Pioneers are pleased to announce that Pioneer Offensive Specialist Jim Jones has been named to the American Conference All-af2 First Team for Special Teams, the arenafootball2 League Office announced today.

This was Jones' 3rd season in the af2. The Pioneers acquired him mid-season from division opponent Albany Conquest. Due to injury, Jones was only able to play in two games for the Pioneers. During those games he received the ball four times for a total of 44 yards, ran the ball twice for 4 yards, and returned the ball twice for 56 yards.

Jones played in 12 games for the Albany Conquest this season. During his term with the team he had 53 kick returns for a total of 1,048 yards. Jones also rushed 3 times for 15 yards and 2 touchdowns, and had 52 receptions totaling 705 yards and 14 touchdowns. With these numbers Jones lead the Conquest in all purpose yards. On the defensive side of the ball Jones made a total of 27.5 tackles (9 assisted).

Jones was a two-time Division III All-American when he played for Widener University. He amassed 3,523 receiving yards in three seasons at Widener (most in school history). Four times during his college career he went over 200 receiving yards in a single game. In addition, Jones received the ball for over 100 yards in 17 games (most in school history) and scored 30 touchdowns in 2001 (2nd in school history).
