STOCKTON, Calif. - Stockton Lightning WR/DB Kenyatte Morgan has been named to the National Conference's All-af2 First Team for Special Teams, and OS Atnas Maeko has been named to the National Conference's All-af2 Second Team for Offensive Specialists, the arenafootball2 League Office announced today.
Morgan, 29, garners All-af2 First Team honors for the second time in his af2 career, leading the league in 2006 with 23.2 average kick-return yards, 1,793 kick-return yards (second-best career output), four kick-return touchdowns, and ranking second in the league with 2,644 all-purpose yards. Morgan's season-best for kick returns came on June 3 versus the Memphis Xplorers, returning 10 kicks for 227 yards, while posting 266 all-purpose yards.
Morgan had two games in 2006 with 200 kick-return yards or more, while tallying 100 kick-return yards or more in a stretch of six out of seven games.
Maeko, 26, posted 80 catches for 1,343 yards and 17 touchdowns in his arenafootball2 rookie season, leading the Lightning in receiving yards, 111.9 receiving yards per game, and ranking second in receptions and touchdown receptions. Originally assigned internationally to the Lightning roster on May 4, Maeko registered 15 catches for 314 receiving yards and six touchdowns in his first two games, following with a season-high 189 receiving yards on nine catches on July 22 versus the Bakersfield Blitz.

The Lightning finished with a 5-11 overall record in their inaugural 2006 arenafootball2 season, ranking third in af2 attendance with an average of 7,445 fans per home game.
