August 14, 2006 - arenafootball2 (af2) News Release

CHICAGO - The Florida Firecats landed a league-best six players on the All-af2 First and Second Teams, the league office announced today. Overall, players from 21 of the league's 23 teams were selected to either the American or National Conference All-af2 First and Second Teams as voted on by af2 head coaches and beat writers.

The Louisville Fire and Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz each had five players named to the First and Second Teams. Yard Dawgz OS JARRAIL JACKSON was recognized twice. He earned First Team honors as an offensive specialist and a Second Team spot on special teams. The Central Valley Coyotes, Green Bay Blizzard and Spokane Shock were also well represented with four players named All-af2.

Oklahoma City WR/DB AL HUNT has been one of the league's most consistent all-around players since his career began in 2003. He has earned four straight All-af2 selections, the most of any current league athlete. He was named to the National Conference All-af2 Second Team in 2003 (Tulsa), 2005 and 2006, and garnered a First Team mention in 2004. Three-time All-af2 performers include Quad City WR/DB TIM DODGE and QB CRAIG STRICKLAND of Oklahoma City.

Florida veteran QB CHRIS WALLACE is an interesting first-time selection, finally gaining league recognition in his sixth af2 season. Wallace set team records this season for touchdown passes (100) and passing yards (3,918) to help guide the Firecats to a 13-3 regular season record and a No. 1 playoff seed in the American Conference. Florida, fresh off a 40-39 semifinal win against Manchester, plays host to the Green Bay Blizzard this Saturday, August 19 in the American Conference Championship.
