LINCOLN, NE - Shane Pinto has been named to the USHL/NHL Top Prospects Game set to take place at the Ice Box on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019. Pinto earned the honor following a stellar start to his rookie season.

Through 20 games, Pinto is the Stars leading scorer with 12 goals and 11 assists. His 23 points ranks 11th in the USHL and is second-best among all rookies. The North Dakota commit is currently playing for the US in the World Junior A Challenge. In USHL play, he has an active seven-game point streak, the third-longest streak in the league.

Started in 2012, the Top Prospects Game is an annual event put on by the USHL and NHL to showcase the league's best draft-eligible players. This year the contest will be hosted at the Ice Box in Lincoln, Nebraska, home of the Lincoln Stars. After on-ice testing at the Ice Box on January 7th, players from around the USHL will play in front of scouts and representatives from all 31 NHL teams on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019.

The Stars sent five players to the Top Prospects Game in Kearney, Nebraska. Of that group, Paul Cotter, Christian Krygier and Cole Krygier were selected in June's 2018 NHL Draft. This year, it will be Pinto representing the Stars on home ice. Stay tuned to lincolnstars.com and all team social media for updates on this year's event!
