Pink Knights Game this Saturday

FORT MILL, S.C. - The Charlotte Knights and Charlotte Radiology present the 6th Annual Pink Knights game this Saturday, May 14th at 7:15 PM. A portion of all ticket sales will be donated to help "Strike Out Breast Cancer." Knights players will take the field in special pink jerseys and hats that will be auctioned off during the game.
The goal of the event is to help raise awareness and money for mammograms. A portion of all ticket sales, special pink merchandise, and money from the jersey and hat auction will be donated to the Carolinas HeathCare Foundation. The money will be used to help underwrite breast cancer screenings for local women who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford it.
"Mammography recommendations have become a hot topic in the news, and women are truly confused about when to start their annual mammography routine," said Katie Robbins, director of marketing and practice relations for Charlotte Radiology. "This is even more of an issue for women in low income areas where healthcare education and resources to pay for mammograms are limited. We're excited to partner with the Knights to provide a venue that addresses both breast health education and funding for mammography for women who otherwise could not afford them."
The first 1,000 women through the gates will receive a pink baseball courtesy of Charlotte Radiology. All fans are encouraged to wear pink at the game as the Knights try to "Pink Out" the stadium.
