The Gwinnett Braves defeated the Pawtucket Red Sox by a score of 2-0 at McCoy Stadium in Pawtucket, RI on Wednesday night. RHP Rodrigo Lopez (5-0) was sensational for the Braves in earning his fifth victory. With the win, the Gwinnett Braves (18-14) remain in second place in the International League South division.

It Was Over When: In the top of top of the third, OF Jordan Schafer hit his sixth double of the year, allowing OF Jose Constanza to score.

Braves Beat:

On the Mound: Lopez pitched 7.0 shutout innings on his way his 5th victory. His line: 7.0 IP, 3 H, 2 BB and 7 K's. RHP Scott Proctor came into the game in relief and pitched 1.0 IP allowing 1 H, 1 BB, and a K. RHP Jairo Asencio earned his 4th save of the year pitching a perfect 9th inning.

At the plate: Only two G-Braves had hits tonight. Schafer connected for his 6th double and finished the night going 1-for-4 with an RBI. OF Matt Young went 1-for-2 with an RBI and 2 BB and an SB.

The Opposition:

On the Mound: RHP Kyle Weiland (2-4) earned the loss, tossing 6.0 IP with 2 H, 2 R/ER, 4 BB and 9 K's. RHP Dennis Neuman came on in relief and finished out the game throwing 3.0 IP with a BB and 3 K's. At the plate: RF Matt Sheely provided most of the offense for the PawSox going 3-for-3 with an SB.

On Deck: The Gwinnett Braves finish their series vs. the Pawtucket Red Sox on Thursday night at McCoy Stadium at 12:15 p.m. The G-Braves will send out RHP Julio Teheran (3-0, 1.80) vs. LHP Andrew Miller (1-2, 2.45) for the Paw Sox. The game can be heard on the home of the G-Braves,1240AM ESPN.
