After picking up four out of a possible six points on their northern Ontario road trip, the Owen Sound Attack are back in action with another three games in three nights this weekend.

Led by Kyle Platzer, who has 13 points thanks to five goals and eight assists, the Attack will kick off their weekend of action when they visit the London Knights on Friday, Oct. 17.

The 7:30pm puck drop at Budweiser Gardens will give Owen Sound a chance to exact revenge on the struggling Knights, after London barely edged the Attack in a shootout earlier this year. London earned another shootout win on Wednesday night, when they defeated the Erie Otters by a score of 4-3. The victory over the Otters was just London's 3rd of the year, the Knights' struggles have seemed to infect their stars as Max Domi has yet to score this season.

After Friday night's contest, the Attack return to the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre for two games in less than 24 hours on Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday night's game will see Owen Sound take on the Eastern Conference leading Oshawa Generals at 7:30pm.For the Gens, it will be their 2nd game in as many nights as well, as they will test their 6-1-1 record against the Sarnia Sting on Friday night.Owen Sound and Oshawa have been fairly evenly matched over the last five years, with the Attack holding a 4-5-1 record against one of the East's perennial contenders.

The Attack will then wrap up their weekend with the 4th annual Pink In The Rink game against the Windsor Spitfires on Sunday at 2:00pm.Donning pink duds in support of the Canadian Cancer Society's fight against breast cancer, the Attack will take on a struggling Windsor side. The Spitfires sit at 2-4-0-0 entering a weekend that will see them play Saginaw and Barrie before travelling to Owen Sound.Windsor will see Josh Ho-Sang return to their lineup this weekend after his six game suspension for a hit on London's Zach Bell in last year's playoffs.

Attack keys to victory

Owen Sound has boasted a stellar record with the man advantage this year, sitting 5th overall in the league by scoring at a 28.3 percent clip so far this year. The Attack will look to capitalize on any chances they can get when on the powerplay, while staying out of the penalty box themselves. They will also look to continue their style of play from the road trip against North Bay, Sudbury, and Sault Ste. Marie, where head coach Greg Ireland said he was happy with compete level and resiliency of the team.

Players to watch

Damir Sharipzyanov - Defence

1 Goal, 9 Assists, 8 Games Played

Owen Sound's 2nd year defenceman is showing why he has played at the international level for his home country, Russia, before. There have only been two games where he has been held off of the scoresheet this year and he is already just two assists shy of his total from last season. Sharipzyanov is a powerplay and penalty kill threat for the Attack, and one of the more versatile defenders on the squad.

Daniel Milne - Left Wing

4 Goals, 6 Assists, 8 Games Played

Overage forward Daniel Milne has been a big part of the Attack's offence this year and currently sits tied for 2nd in team scoring this year while also being tied for 10th in overall league scoring. After scoring a career high 46 points last season, Milne is well on track to set a new career high in scoring while leading the Attack this season.
