Joel Pimentel â Columbus Catfish
Joel Pimentel recorded a 2-0 mark and 0.75 ERA in two starts for the Catfish as the 18-year old right-hander fanned a league-best 19 batters and walked just four for the week, while holding opponents to a .146 batting average. In 12 innings, he allowed just six hits and one earned run. In his first start of the week, Pimentel allowed just three hits and no runs in five innings as he guided the Catfish to a 2-1 victory over the Savannah Sand Gnats. In his second start and in the first game of a scheduled make-up double-header Thursday night, Pimentel pitched a complete game three-hitter en route to a 3-1 win over Rome yielding just one earned run, striking out 16 and walking only one batter. Pimentel opened the game by fanning the first eight batters he faced.

Ryan Harvey â Capital City Bombers
Ryan Harvey was instrumental in the Bombers 6-1 record last week, batting a lusty .429 (12-for-28) with one home run and a league-leading 11 RBI. His 18 total runs (11 RBI and 8 run scored) accounted for the most runs in the league. He holds a slugging percentage of .679 and an on base percentage of .515. The California native hit safely in each of his seven games last week and extended his hitting streak to 10 games overall with his three-hit performance against Asheville Thursday night. He also had a three-hit game last Saturday against Ashville and three RBI. The 24-year old Harvey had his best game of the week one day earlier with a pair of hits, including a home run and four RBI. This week lifted Harvey's average to .352, good enough for third best in the league.
