Pigs Earn Third Victory in Less Than 24 Hours

Andrew Romine led the way for the IronPigs (3-1) on Sunday afternoon as he recorded four RBI in a 7-0 win over the Rochester Red Wings (1-3).

The Pigs got after Red Wings starting pitcher Zack Littell (0-1) in the bottom of the first inning, taking a 4-0 lead. Phil Gosselin led off the inning with a single then scored on an RBI double by Jan Hernandez. Dylan Cozens proceeded to walk, then both he and Hernandez scored on a three-run home run hit by Romine.

Malquin Canelo and extend the lead to 5-0. Mitch Walding added a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning against Ryan Eades to give Lehigh Valley a 6-0 lead. Deivy Grullon homered off Eades in the bottom of the eighth inning for his first triple-A home run of the season.

Ranger Suarez (1-0) pitched five shutout innings for his first win of the season. Edgar Garcia and Austin Davis each pitched two scoreless innings in relief.

The IronPigs continue their homestand on Monday evening at 7:05 p.m. as the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders come to the Lehigh Valley. Monday's contest is a second consecutive TD Bank Dog Day at Coca-Cola Park, this one featuring $1 Berks hot dogs. Before the game, 3,000 adults will receive a Roman Quinn bobblehead presented by GIANT.
