Florence Y'alls News Release

Florence, Ky. - A night that started out with an immediate deficit against the Joliet Slammers ended in a bath of ice water and powder for Florence Y'alls walk-off hero Trevor Craport on Saturday night at Y'alls Ballpark.

With Chad Sedio on second base to lead off the bottom of the tenth, Craport blasted a ball over the left field wall to send Y'alls fans home happy with a 10-8 final score.

Both Florence starter Edgar Martinez and Joliet starter Tyler Jandron gave up six runs in the first two innings. Jandron went on to retire 14 of the next 15 batters he faced. Martinez was pulled after four innings after giving up eight runs.

The score stood at 8-6 until the seventh, when Sedio hit a one-out triple, his third extra-base hit of the game, and later scored on a wild pitch.

In the eight, designated hitter Jordan Brower led off the inning with a double. After a walk to shortstop Andres Rios, Rodney Tennie squared around to bunt. With Joliet third baseman Lane Baremore charging, third base was wide open for the taking with Tennie pulling his bunt back. Brower scored later in the at-bat to tie the game at eight.

Neither team was able to score in the ninth, sending the game to extra innings. Joliet could not move the runner placed at second thanks to a great effort from reliever Sean Hughes, setting up the chance for Trevor Craport's walk-off home run.

Perhaps the biggest performance of the game came from Florence reliever Alex Wagner. Wagner tossed four inning of two-hit, scoreless baseball to keep his team in the game. Wagner, who did earn a decision, struck out five in his tremendous outing.
