PORTLAND, MAINE - Andrew Ebbett scored 59 seconds into overtime to give the Portland Pirates a 3-2 win over the Philadelphia Phantoms at the Cumberland County Civic Center on Friday night.

Portland took a 1-0 lead on the only goal of the first period. Andy Schneider put a shot on net from the left side that Brian Boucher stopped. But traffic in the crease prevented him from getting across to the right post, and Jason King was able to put the rebound home with just 1:02 left in the frame.

Philadelphia was able to get on the board early in the second period. Kyle Greentree carried a puck into the left circle and fired a bit of an off-speed shot that fooled goaltender Jonas Hiller and tied the game at 1-1 just 2:39 into the second period.

The Pirates answered with another late goal, this one with 1:18 remaining in the second period while on a five-on-three power play. Camden native Bobby Ryan set up the goal from the left circle, centering for Aaron Rome. Rome snapped it home to make it 2-1 in the second intermission.

In the third period, the Phantoms drew even once again with a power play goal of their own. Jonathan Matsumoto was stationed in the right corner and centered for Darren Reid, who snapped a one-timer from the right-side hash marks that beat Hiller.

Reid's goal sent the game to extra time, but there wasn't much of it. Just 59 seconds into the four-on-four period, Portland developed a two-on-one. King took the puck down the right side and slid a centering pass around the defenseman to Ebbett, who put it past Boucher to earn the Pirates the extra point.

Boucher absorbed the OTL with 29 saves on 31 shots, while Hiller took the win with 27 saves on 29 shots. The Phantoms are now 8-1-1 for 17 points and continue to sit atop the East Division.
