Phantoms Hold Supply Drive For Military

In conjunction with Veteran's Day, the Philadelphia Phantoms will hold a supply drive to benefit the "Phantoms Platoon," the U.S. Army's 5th Platoon from the A Company's 710th Brigade Support Battalion. Currently on deployment to Afghanistan, the Platoon was "adopted" by the Phantoms before its departure in March. Fans are asked to bring new men's and women's toiletries and/or new or gently used DVDs, CDs, and magazines.
Dr. Stephen Markus, a Haddon Heights, NJ dentist, will kick off the drive by donating Halloween candy that his office collected for military troops. His extremely successful drive brought in 800 pounds of candy, and a portion of that will head to the Phantoms Platoon. Phantoms mascot Phlex will be in Haddon Heights at 12:30 Friday afternoon to pick up the candy, while the rest is being loaded up to head to other military destinations.
