Youngstown Phantoms News Release
YOUNGSTOWN, OH- The Phantoms defeated the Gamblers Saturday night in Green Bay by a final score of 2-1. Kris Myllari led the way for the Phantoms, scoring both of Youngstown's goals.
"I got some great passes. Pearson gave me a beautiful one for the first goal. Our forwards did a good job screening the goalie and I don't think he saw either of the shots," Myllari said.
Goaltender Colin DeAugustine was a brick wall for the Phantoms all night, stopping 37 of 38 shots, including a penalty shot in the second period. After a rough outing last weekend against Chicago, DeAugustine was all smiles after the game.
"It was in the back of my mind that last game I gave up six goals, but you just have to stay confident and know you can play," said DeAugustine.
The Phantoms were able to earn three of a possible four points on the first road trip of the season.
Youngstown will be back in action next Saturday, October 24 against the Muskegon Lumberjacks at the Covelli Centre. The contest will be the Phantoms annual "Pink in the Rink" game to benefit breast cancer awareness. Fans are invited to come to the Covelli Centre ice Thursday, October 22 to paint tributes on the ice to those in their life who are battling, have battled, or have lost their lives to cancer.
