William Whitelaw with the Shattuck St. Mary Prep Team

YOUNGSTOWN, OH- The Phantoms are excited to draft William Whitelaw with the first overall pick of the 2021 USHL futures draft.
"We are thrilled to add William to the Youngstown family,'' stated Brad Patterson, General Manager and Head Coach of Youngstown. "William is an exceptional hockey player who possesses elite skill, skating and compete level and we believe that he will make a huge impact in Youngstown in the near future. Opportunities to draft a player like William don't come along often and we can't wait to see him in a Phantom jersey."
"Our staff had several live viewings of William this season and they had him rated "hands down" as one of the top prospects in the 2005 birth year. We believe his skill and work ethic will lead to a long and successful hockey career, said Team President, Andrew Goldman.
Whitelaw was a key contributor as the only 15 year old to play for the prestigious Shattuck St. Mary Prep Team and will be reunited with fellow Shattuck players, Dana Ocean Wallace, Winter Wallace and Jack Larrigan when he arrives in Youngstown.
