Red Deer Rebels News Release
RED DEER - The Red Deer Rebels are proud to announce that goaltender Peyton Shore has signed a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with the team.
The Rebels selected the Winnipeg, MB native in the fifth round, 100th overall at the 2023 WHL Prospects Draft.
Shore is having an outstanding season with Rink Hockey Academy (RHA) Winnipeg U17 Prep. In 15 appearances he has a 10-3-0-1 record with a 2.48 goals-against average and .932 save percentage, which is tied for third best in the CSSHL U17 division.
Shore backstopped Team Manitoba to a gold medal win at the 2023 WHL Cup at the Peavey Mart Centrium in Red Deer, turning aside 106 of the 119 shots he faced during the tournament, including a dazzling 53-save performance versus Team Alberta in the final.
"He's a really good goalie and has excelled at the U17 level. He's done nothing but check all the boxes at this point and we think he's going to be a solid WHL goalie as well," says Rebels Associate General Manager Shaun Sutter.
