
Petes Sign Top Pick Eric Cornel

Peterborough Petes General Manager David Reid announced today that the team has signed their 1st round selection Eric Cornel, the 3rd overall pick from the 2012 OHL Priority Selection to an OHL Contract and Education Package.
"Eric is a tremendously talented young hockey player and the Peterborough Petes are very happy to be signing Eric and adding Eric to our team" says Petes General Manager David Reid. "Eric plays a very high tempo game and is a player that makes all players around him better. We are looking forward to watching Eric begin his OHL career at our Orientation Camp May 5th and 6th at the Memorial Centre."
The Petes selected Cornel from the Upper Canada Cyclones of the Ottawa East Minor Hockey Association with the 3rd overall pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection on Saturday April 7th. Eric also represented Canada at the 2012 Youth Olympics in Austria.
