Peterborough Petes News Release
(Peterborough, ON) - Hunter Jones stopped all 23 shots he faced and newly acquired Akil Thomas and Jack York had points in their debuts as the Petes shut out the red hot Ottawa 67's 4-0 in front of a sold out crowd on Saturday night. Before the game the Petes raised a banner to the PMC rafters in honour of Petes alumnus and NHL player, coach, and executive Colin Campbell.
Nick Robertson (26), Max Grondin (9), Zach Gallant (21), and Semyon Der-Arguchintsev (5) all scored for the Petes, who donned TPT replica jerseys that are now available through online auction.
Akil Thomas and Jack York, who were acquired by the Petes at the trade deadline earlier this week, recorded single assists in their Petes debuts. Robertson, Brady Hinz, Michael Little, and Declan Chisholm also registered single helpers.
Final shots were 34-23 in favour of the Petes, who went 67% in the face off circle. Peterborough went 1/4 on the power play and 2/2 on the penalty kill. The win ends Ottawa's 17-game winning streak.
The Petes wrap up the weekend in Oshawa as they visit the Generals on Sunday, January 12 at 6:05pm. They'll be back on home ice for back-to-back games on Saturday, January 18 at 7:05pm against the Flint Firebirds and on Sunday, January 19 at 2:05pm against the Niagara IceDogs.
Tickets for all regular season home games are available through the PMC Grant Thornton Box Office in person and over the phone at (705) 743-3561 Monday to Friday from 9:30am to 5:00pm, and 24 hours a day online.
