(Peterborough, ON)- The Peterborough Petes announced changes to the business operations department today. Burton Lee will now serve as Executive Director of Business Operations, and Tamara Burns has been hired as the Coordinator of Game Operations.

As Executive Director of Business Operations, Lee will oversee the business operations team with the primary goal of leading growth in all departments and further strengthening the Petes' community partnerships. He has held the position of Director of Communications & Game Night Operations for the previous two seasons, originally joining the Petes organization in 2013 after stints with the Sarnia Sting and the CFL's Toronto Argonauts.

"Our continued growth is a reflection of the progressive, forward-thinking approach that is a priority for our Board of Directors and General Manager, and is in response to the constant evolution of junior hockey in Canada," noted Lee. "With this new structure in place on the business side, the Petes' hockey operations personnel can invest more time and energy into our organization's ultimate goal; winning a MasterCard Memorial Cup."

Lee, who holds an MBA, Sport Management from Southern New Hampshire University and a BA, Kinesiology from Wilfrid Laurier University, will maintain the communications duties from his previous role, and will continue to serve as the team's point of contact for all media requests.

Burns rejoins the Petes as the Coordinator of Game Operations after holding the position of Game Night Coordinator for the Belleville Bulls during the 2014/15 season. She will be tasked with delivering a highly engaging and exciting game night experience that will captivate attendees at all Petes home games.

Tamara was the Marketing & Game Operations Intern for the Petes during the 2013/14 campaign, earning credit toward her Sports and Entertainment Sales and Marketing graduate certificate at Loyalist College. The Millbrook native and Crestwood Secondary School graduate also holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Marketing from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.

"I am beyond thrilled to be rejoining the Petes organization in a full-time capacity," added Burns. "After experiencing my first full OHL season in Belleville, I'm ready and excited to bring what I've learned back to Peterborough just in time for our 60th season."

General Manager Michael Oke noted that "we are excited to continue the growth and development of the business operations department. Burton, Tamara, and the rest of the business team will work toward building on our many existing partnerships and creating new ones, while growing all other areas of the business."

Additionally, Matt D'Agostini's title has been changed to Coordinator, Marketing & Community Events. He will continue to oversee all community initiatives and assist with marketing and sales projects.
