Peterborough Petes News Release

Peterborough Petes General Manager David Reid today announced that the Petes have acquired Andrew Yogan from the Erie Otters in exchange for Erie's sixth round pick in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection and two conditional draft picks (Windsor's second round choice in the 2012 OHL Priority Selection and Peterborough's third round pick in the 2013 OHL Priority Selection). Yogan was the New York Rangers 4th Round Pick, 100th Overall, in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

Originally drafted into the OHL by the Windsor Spitfires in the 5th Round, 91st Overall during the 2007 OHL Priority Selection Draft, Yogan has played a total of 174 games in the OHL recording 55 goals, 53 assists.

A shoulder injury that required surgery, which was performed by the Rangers team doctor last September, kept Yogan out of the Otters lineup last year until late February.

Andrew joined the Connecticut Whale of the American Hockey League at the end of last season, recording two goals and an assist in two games.

Yogan recently updated the status of his shoulder during an interview with NewYorkRangers.com reporter Dan David "It feels great now, and it's much more stable than it was before. It was necessary for me to get that surgery so I could play 100 percent up to my expectations, and getting that out of the way definitely is going to help out my game."

"We're pleased to add a player of Andrew's caliber to our organization." said Reid. "If Andrew is going to play in the OHL he's going to be a great asset to our team. He's a goal scorer and he's big body which will add depth to our scoring up front."
