WOODBRIDGE, Va. - Jhonny Pereda reached base four times and Jared Young's two-run double Wednesday helped the Myrtle Beach Pelicans edge the Potomac Nationals 4-3 from Pftizner Stadium.

With the score tied at two, Luis Ayala led off the seventh with a base hit against Potomac (62-55, 25-25) reliever Carlos Acevedo (1-2). After two fly outs, Pereda walked before Young ripped a two-run double to put Myrtle Beach (54-67, 20-31) up 4-2.

In the bottom of the seventh, David Masters doubled against Pelicans reliever Garrett Kelly (1-1), who was making his High-A debut. Later in the inning, an error plated Masters to draw the P-Nats to within 4-3.

Ryan Kellogg fired two scoreless innings to earn his fourth save of the season.

Potomac struck early in the ballgame. After Luis Garcia singled and stole second with one out in the first, Ian Sagdal singled him in for the game's first run.

The score remained that way until the sixth. Aramis Ademan, Pereda and Young each singled to start the inning by loading the bases. Andruw Monasterio blooped in an RBI single to tie the game and Roberto Caro's RBI ground out put the Birds in front at 2-1.

Myrtle Beach starter Tyson Miller yielded two runs on five hits in 5.2 innings. He struck out five against two walks but earned a no-decision.
