The Aeros jumped out to a 1-0 lead just 1:57 into the first period as LW Petr Kalus took advantage of a turnover and set up Milroy for his 12th goal of the season. Peoria controlled the play for the remainder of the period and evened the score at 12:30. D Daryl Boyle fired a slap shot from the right point, Dubielewicz made the initial save but knocked the rebound into his own net. Boyle's seventh goal of the season was assisted by Talbot and F Matt McIlvane. C Cam Paddock continued his strong weekend against Houston with his 12th of the season at 14:50. Eller stepped out of the penalty box after serving his penalty for Holding the Stick and entered the Aeros zone 2-on-2, Paddock took a pass from Eller and fired a slap shot from the right face off circle past Dubielewicz for a 2-1 lead. Paddock finished the two-game weekend set against the Aeros with four points (3-1=4).
Houston responded with a strong second period and scored the tying marker just 47 seconds in when RW J-M Daoust found Rau with a back door pass and Rau banged it by Bishop for his 15th of the season; LW Andy Hilbert also assisted on the goal. Noreau then gave the Aeros a 3-2 lead at 10:04, firing a shot past Bishop from the right face off circle. The see-saw battle continued though as Peoria tied the game on a late power play. The teams went to overtime where Houston had a chance on the power play when Eller was sent to the box for High Sticking at 3:06. Despite numerous chances, the Rivermen were able to kill off the final 1:54 of the OT session to force a shootout. Dubielewicz stopped 4-of-5 shots faced but Talbot's goal was enough to give Peoria the victory.
