Pensacola's Justin Gatlin To Drop Puck At Home Opener

Pensacola, Fla. – The Pensacola Ice Pilots announced today that Pensacola's Gold Medalist Winner Justin Gatlin will participate in the ceremony puck drop at the Ice Pilots home opener vs. the Kelly Cup Finalists Florida Everblades on Saturday, October 30 at 7:05 p.m.

Gatlin won the Gold Medal in the 100 meter dash in the 2004 Summer Olympics at Athens, Greece and is known as the "World's Fastest Human." "We are honored to have Justin drop the ceremony puck at our home opener and are proud of him winning the gold medal. He is a class individual and I think our fans will be excited to have him part of our first game of the season," said Ice Pilots Vice President of Business Operations Bob Maynard.

The Ice Pilots also announced today that goalie Terry Denike, forward Tyler Perry and forward George Cantrall were released from the training camp roster. The Ice Pilots currently have 22 players on the training camp roster.

The Ice Pilots will play the Gwinnett Gladiators tomorrow night and Saturday night in a preseason game at the Pensacola Civic Center. Both games begin at 7:05 p.m. "We are looking forward to the opportunity of redeeming ourselves from dropping our first preseason game on Wednesday. We are looking forward to improve our play against Gwinnett who is one of the better teams in the ECHL," said Ice Pilots Head Coach Dave Farrish.

Individual game tickets for the preseason games are $10 for all lower level seats and $5 for all upper level seats. The Ice Pilots are inviting all "Relief Workers" as their guests to the preseason game vs. Gwinnett on Saturday night at 7:05 p.m.

The Ice Pilots will have a special table located in front of the Pensacola Civic Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. All "Relief Workers" will need to show their identification and will be able to attend the game as a guest of the Ice Pilots.

AM 1620 will broadcast tomorrow and Saturday night's preseason game vs. the Gwinnett Gladiators beginning with the pre-game show at 6:50 p.m. with face off for both games at 7:05 p.m.

Individual game tickets for all 36 home games are on sale now. Cost for individual game tickets during the regular season are $22 for floor and glass, $15 for sides, $13 for behind the goal and lower upper level and $10 for upper level seats.

Fans can purchase individual game tickets in person at the Civic Center box office, at any Ticketmaster location, Charge by Phone at 850-434-7444 or through the Ice Pilots website at www.icepilots.com.

The Ice Pilots will begin the 2004-2005 regular season at Mississippi on October 23 and play their home opener Saturday, October 30 vs. the Kelly Cup Finalists Florida Everblades at 7:05 p.m.

Season tickets for all 36 home games for floor and glass seats are $649.44, side seats are $459.00, goal seats and lower upper seats are $411.84 and upper seats cost $324.00. 16 game plans, 8 game plans and flex packs are available.
