Pensacola Pelicans and Cox Sports Television Announce Three-Game Broadcast Package

(NEW ORLEANS, LA) The Pensacola Pelicans of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball (AAIPB) and Cox Sports Television announced a multi-year television agreement today, where the regional sports network, serving cable homes from Lubbock, Texas to Gainesville, Florida will televise a minimum of three Pelicans games during each of the next two seasons. The Pelicans look forward in building from the 2005 season where they recorded a 53-40 won-loss record, the second best in club history.

The three game package for the 2006 season starts off Friday night, July 28 when the Ft. Worth Cats visit Pelican Park at University of West Florida. Game two and three will include the Shreveport Sports, both home appearances on Friday, August 4 and Friday, August 25. Start times for all three games is 6:35 p.m.

"We are very excited to be starting a new programming relationship with the Pelicans", stated CST Vice President of Regional Sports Rod Mickler. "With our recent launches in the Florida Panhandle and their leagues presence in Louisiana and Texas, this is great programming to add for our viewers throughout the CST viewing area".

"This is a big positive for the Pelicans organization and the Pensacola community as we are now reaching yet another level of professional baseball through this new partnership with COX Sports Television," said Pelicans General Manager Talmadge Nunnari. "Not only can the fans follow the team on the road through the radio and web-cast but now they will be able to watch the game LIVE on TV. This is an exciting first step into television broadcasting for the Pelicans."

Cox Sports Television is a fast growing regional sports network based in New Orleans, La. The Cox Communications owned network is available to all cable operators in the south and is carried locally on channel on channel 319 in the Pensacola and Ft. Walton area.
