
Pensacola Ice Flyers Fall in Overtime to the Havoc, 3-2

PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Pensacola Ice Flyers fell 3-2 to the Huntsville Havoc in overtime Friday night. The Pensacola goals were scored by Brant Sherwood and Tanner Froese. The Havoc's goals were scored by Pat Condon and Derek Perl. Tyler Piacentini scored the overtime goal for Huntsville. The Havoc outshot the Ice Flyers 36 to 31.
Just six seconds into the game, Brant Sherwood put the Ice Flyers on the board with an unassisted goal. 18 seconds later, Chris Lijdsman and Connor Schmidt received matching fighting majors with Schmidt receiving an additional 10-minute misconduct for leaving the players bench. Pat Condon tied the game for the Havoc with 4:14 left. He was assisted by Ryan Salkeld and Stephen Hrehoriak. The Ice Flyers outshot the Havoc 12 to 8.
Assisted by Brett D'Andrea and Ryan Marcuz, Tanner Froese scored the lone goal of the second period 6:25 in for Pensacola. Huntsville and Pensacola were tied at 13 shots.
Huntsville pulled goalie Mike DeLaVergne for an extra attacker resulting in Derek Perl tying the game with less than two minutes left in the third. He was assisted by Trevor Gerling and Stephen Hrehoriak. Huntsville outshot Pensacola 13 to 5.
Peter Sikalis and Kyle Sharkey assisted Tyler Piacentini on the game winning goal 2:03 into overtime.
NOTES:
Tanner Froese's goal was his first of his professional career.
