Pennant Race Heats Up for T-Bones
August 17, 2004 - Northern League (NL)
Kansas City Monarchs News Release
We'll start things off tonight with Dollar Dog Night, presented by KCWE and WIBW. Red-hot Lee's Summit native Jonathan Krysa will be on the hill for the T-Bones, taking on Fargo-Moorhead RedHawk righty J.J. Scheving. Come out and watch some great baseball - and eat all the dollar dogs you can stomach!
Wednesday, August 18th, will be Family Night presented by the Kansas City Star and Sam's Club. That means that all families and parties of four - or more - can get the following for just $25: Four general admission tickets, four hot dogs, four Coke products, and a bucket of popcorn. Come support the T-Bones as they send Matt McClellan to the mound, opposing lefty Jake Whitney.
The brief homestand will end Thursday, August 19th. That will be Cap Night presented by Somers Eye Center and Z95.7! Tickets are going fast for this always-popular promotion. And we're thankful it's Cap Night... a few of the T-Bones and their staff will be having the completion of their head-shaving from the American Cancer Society's Shave to Save at the game! (Please see below for information on donations). RHP Jon McDonald will take the bump for the T-Bones against Fargo righty Todd George.
After the weekend in Lincoln, it'll be two days off (including the golf tournament - see below) and then the final homestand of the season - eight awesome games of fun! We still have hot tub spaces available for the final homestand - one of the best deals around!

Shave to Save with the T-Bones
Help the Kansas City T-Bones raise money for the American Cancer Society and get a couple of tickets in the bargain! Pitcher Matt McClellan, "Double Duty" Phil Thompson, Broadcaster Loren Foxx and "Promo Dude" Justin Stancil will all be shaving their heads to raise money for the American Cancer Society in the "Shave to Save" event August 19th.
The T-Bones contingent will be shaving half their heads at the Fairmont Hotel at lunch, and the other half at CommunityAmerica Ballpark that night before the game against the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks. We will also be honoring the other shavees prior to the game!
All fans to donate over $10 to the cause will receive two free general admission tickets to the August 30th T-Bones game. If fans choose not to use the donated tickets, they will be given to patients who have cancer who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend the game.
As well, we raise for the American Cancer Society's Hope Lodge by staging our Launch-A-Ball contest after every game! Win dinners, T-shirts, tickets, CASH... and on Saturday nights, you can even win $10,000 - all for just a $1 donation! Look for the Promotions table your next time out and support a great cause!
Hit the Links with the T-Bones August 24th
Spots are limited for the second annual Kansas City T-Bones Golf Tournament at Falcon Lakes in Basehor, KS. The tournament will be taking place August 24th at 9 am, and will be a shotgun scramble format.
Each foursome will feature a T-Bones player or staff member! Golfers can sign up for a spot for $95 a golfer, which includes a pro shop credit, goodiebag, raffle ticket, mulligan, and lunch at CommunityAmerica Ballpark after the tournament. A threesome can play for $260, and limited spaces are available for foursomes for $350, which also includes a hole sponsorship.
We'll draw from your favorite T-Bones promotions for the holes. Enjoy the Kansas Lottery Dice Roll Hole, the speed hole, the Red Development "Million Dollar" Hole, and all kinds of fun stuff! Every hole will be new challenge, and all golfers will win a prize. As well, there will be prizes for best and worst foursomes, long drives, and all kinds of other stuff!

Let's go to CommunityAmerica Ballpark, Willie and Dylan and the boys...
Yep, that's right. Music legends Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson will be performing at CommunityAmerica Ballpark on September 4th. For $46.50, fans will be able to see the show of a lifetime as two of music's all time greats share the stage!
In the first headline concert in CommunityAmerica Ballpark's brief history, the best in folk and country meet on stage. Two of the best songwriting minds in America will be up there, performing all of your old favorites as part of their tour of America's minor league ballparks.
All tickets sell for $46.50 per ticket, and are general admission. There will be a service charge of $5.00 assessed by Ticketmaster on all tickets sold. As there is no T-Bones game on the night of the concert, T-Bones tickets will not be accepted for admission. T-Bones season ticket holders will have the right of first refusal to purchase their seats.
Please call the T-Bones at 913-328-BALL, phone or visit your local Ticketmaster outlet, or visit Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com to purchase tickets today. Spots are filling up fast!
As well, make this a family outing. Kids 12 and under can get into the show for free with a paid adult admission - so let the youngsters see a part of American history!
