Tue., Jan. 6 - PENGUINS 1 vs. Norfolk 2

Max Friberg broke a 1-1 tie at 5:44 of the third period to help Norfolk secure a 2-1 win over W-B/Scranton in the first of a two-game set between the East Division rivals. Jean- Sebastien Dea notched his ninth goal of the year and sixth on the power play in the loss.

Fri., Jan. 9 - PENGUINS 0 vs. Norfolk 2

Jason LaBarbera made 27 saves in recording his first shutout of the season as the Admirals completed a two-game sweep of the Penguins with a 2-0 win. Emerson Etem and Marc Cantin provided the scoring, striking 2:37 apart in the first period. W-B/Scranton goalie Matt Murray stopped 29 shots in the loss.

Sat., Jan. 10 - Penguins 3 at SYRACUSE 4

The Crunch scored three unanswered goals as they mounted a 4-3 comeback win over the Penguins. Mike Blunden put Syracuse up for good when he scored at 14:21 of the second period. Jason Megna recorded his third multi-goal game of the year for the Penguins with two tallies in the first period.

The Week Ahead

Sat., Jan 17 - Penguins at WORCESTER

The Sharks (16-14-3-2) are riding a three-game winning streak and are in fourth place in the Atlantic Division. Goaltender Troy Grosenick has won five of his last six starts, registering a 2.14 GAA and a .925 save percentage.

Sun., Jan 18 - Penguins at PROVIDENCE

The Bruins are winless (0-3-1-1) in their last five games and currently sit in third place in the Atlantic Division with a record of 17-16-4-1. Justin Florek has a six-game point streak at home, recording two goals and four assists.

- Jean-Sebastien Dea ranks second among rookies in power play goals (6) and is tied for second with 12 power play points (6G-6A).

- The Penguins have the second best winning percentage in the league this season when scoring first (.861; 15-2-1-0). - The Penguins' first period goal differential (+9) is tied for the third best in the AHL.

- Saturday's loss to the Syracuse Crunch was Wilkes- Barre/Scranton's first this season when scoring three goals or more. The team was previously 14-0-0-0.

- W-B/Scranton leads the league in shots allowed per game with an average of 25.7.
