Amerks Sign Forward Matt Tassone to PTO

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team has signed forward Matt Tassone to a professional tryout (PTO) contract.
Tassone, 25, has played in one game with the Amerks this season. He has also appeared in 24 games with the ECHL's Elmira Jackals this year and is currently tied for the team-lead in scoring with 24 points (14+10). In 150 career ECHL games with Idaho, Ontario, Las Vegas and Elmira, the 6-foot-2, 210-pound native of St. Albert, Alberta, has registered 88 points (43+45) and 359 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in 14 career American Hockey League games with Lake Erie and the Amerks, as well as 14 Central Hockey League games with Wichita and Arizona. Tassone was originally selected by the Dallas Stars in the sixth round (176th overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
