Wed., Oct. 29 - Penguins 2 at LEHIGH VALLEY 1 (OT)
Matt Murray made a team season-high 42 saves and Jean- Sebastien Dea scored the game-winning power play goal at 4:58 of overtime to lift W-B/Scranton to the 2-1 win.
Fri., Oct. 31 - Penguins 2 at NORFOLK 3 (OT)
The Admirals edged the Penguins in overtime on the back of a three-point night (2G-1A) by Brandon Yip, who also netted the deciding tally at 1:14 of the extra session.
Sat., Nov. 1 - Penguins 1 at NORFOLK 2
Despite a late surge by W-B/Scranton, Norfolk held on for a 2-1 win to sweep the two-game weekend series. In his first game since Oct. 12, Conor Sheary scored the lone goal of the contest for the Penguins.
The Week Ahead
Fri., Nov. 7 - PENGUINS vs. Hershey
The Bears are in first place in the East Division (6-4-0-0) despite having played eight of their first 10 games on the road. Kris Newbury leads the league with 15 points (6G-9A).
Sat., Nov. 8 - Penguins at BINGHAMTON
Eight of the Senators' 10 games this season have been decided by one goal (3-3-2). Defenseman Chris Wideman was named CCM/AHL Player of the Week after registering four goals and one assist in three games last week.
Sun., Nov. 9 - PENGUINS vs. Syracuse
The Crunch are currently in fourth place in the Northeast Division (4-4-1-0). Syracuse has been outscored 10-2 in the first period. Jonathan Marchessault is tied for third in the AHL with a +9 plus-minus rating.
Ice Chips
- With 42 saves on Wednesday versus Lehigh Valley, rookie netminder Matt Murray became the first Penguins goaltender to record 40-plus saves on the road since Adam Berkhoel (44 saves) on Nov. 29, 2008 at Norfolk.
- The Penguins are one of five teams in the AHL this season to not have lost in regulation when scoring first.
- Jean-Sebastien Dea is tied for fourth among AHL rookies with eight points (3G-5A).
- Andrew Ebbett is two away from his 300th AHL contest and 500th game as a pro.
- The Penguins rank second in the AHL with 23.1 shots allowed per game.
