Binghamton fell 3-2 to the visiting Utica Comets in the first of six total meetings between the foes this regular season. Utica used a pair of second period goals just over four minutes apart to build a 3-1 lead before holding on for the one-goal victory.
Carter Bancks gave the Comets a 1-0 lead 10:12 into the first off a feed from former B-Sen Wacey Hamilton. Jean-Gabriel Pageau evened the score just over a minute following a turnover in the Comet's defensive zone. Buddy Robinson, who was relentless on the forecheck, stole the puck from a Utica skater and dished it to Pageau, who then beat the Comet's Joacim Eriksson on the far pipe for his second goal of the season.
Utica's early second period goals came first from Peter Andersson at 3:22 and Bobby Sanguinetti at 7:42 giving the visitors a 3-1 lead. Binghamton's Chris Wideman shrunk the deficit to 3-2 with less than 12 minutes to play in the second, but Utica shutout all eight of the B-Sens' shots on goal during the final period of play.
Eriksson finished with 27 saves in the victory while Andrew Hammond stopped 27 of 30 shots on goal in the defeat.

The B-Sens avenged their earlier loss to the Comets with a 4-3 overtime victory on Utica's home ice. Wideman scored his second game-winning tally 4:21 into the overtime period to give Binghamton the bonus point.
The night began with all eyes on Utica's goaltender Jacob Markstrom, who was less than two full periods away from setting an American Hockey League record for most consecutive minutes without allowing a
goal. Binghamton's Alex Guptill ended the record book run 5:55 into the first period with his first
professional goal. The B-Sens increased its lead to 2-0 with 51 seconds remaining in the first on a power-play goal from Alex Grant.
Less than five minutes into the middle stanza Binghamton made it 3-0 when Wideman scored his first power-play marker of the night off assists from Matt Puempel and Pageau. Binghamton's three-goal advantage was not enough as the Comets scored three unanswered goals to force the game into overtime.
Just as the teams were about to go 3-on-3 for the remainder of overtime, Henrik Tommernes was whistled for hooking, giving the B-Sens a 4-on-3 power play. Wideman converted on the man advantage for the second time to give Binghamton the 4-3 win.
Scott Greenham, who made his first start in net for the B-Sens this season, stopped 41 of 44 shots faced for the victory.
Saturday, Nov. 1: Syracuse 6, Binghamton 3

PP: Syracuse 1 for 7, Binghamton 1 for 3
Despite being tied 2-2 after 40 minutes of play, Binghamton fell 6-3 to the visiting Syracuse Crunch. The Crunch scored twice within the first five minutes of the third before adding another pair after the ten minute mark to earn the 6-3 win.
Following a scoreless first period, Jonathan Marchessault gave the Crunch the 1-0 lead just 1:38 into the second. Slater Koekkoek registered his first professional goal at 9:05 to increase Syracuse's lead to 2-0.
Binghamton rallied for a pair of goals just over two minutes apart to make it 2-2. Pageau made it 2-1 just past the midway point of the frame before Puempel sent a feed from Ryan Dzingel past the Crunch's Kristers Gudlevskis at 12:26 sending the teams to the final intermission tied 2-2.
Wideman added a power-play goal in between the Crunch's four third period scores moving the final to 6-3.
Wideman finished with a goal and an assist, stretching his point-scoring streak to nine straight games.
Record: 3-5-2-0 (8 points)
Standings: Binghamton is currently tied with the Norfolk Admirals (4-5-0-0) for fourth place in the East Division. Hershey tops the Division with a 6-4-0-0 record and 12 points, while Wilkes-Barre/Scranton trails by a point with a 5-5-1-0 record through 11 games played. Lehigh Valley sits in third place with a 4-3-1-0 record and nine points through its first eight games of the season.

The B-Sens will be wearing special Military themed jerseys that will be auctioned off immediately following the game. To be eligible to bid on these one-of-a-kind jerseys fans must signup at the Merchandise Stand located along the front concourse of the Arena.
New York Lottery will be handing out Buy-One-Get-One lottery ticket coupons to the first 200 fans through the gates 18-years-and-older.
SENS SNIPPETS...
Forward Alex Guptill scored his first professional goal in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime victory against the Utica Comets.
Defenseman Chris Wideman was named the CCM/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending November 2. Wideman, who leads all AHL defensemen with 13 points (seven goals, six assists) through the first 10 games of the season, was also named CCM/AHL Player of the Month the same day. Wideman is currently in the middle of a nine-game point scoring streak.
Goaltender Scott Greenham picked up a victory in his first start of the 2014-15 regular season last Wednesday in Utica. Greenham stopped 41 of 44 shots faced in the win.
