
Penguins to play Philadelphia in East Division finals

WILKES-BARRE, Pennsylvania -- The American Hockey League announced today the playoff dates for the 2004 Calder Cup East Division Final series between the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Philadelphia Phantoms.
The best-of-seven series between the Penguins and Phantoms will begin this Wednesday, May 5 at 7:05 p.m. at Philadelphia's Wachovia Center. Game Two of the series will be played on Friday, May 7 at 7:05 p.m. at the Wachovia Center.
The series then shifts to Wilkes-Barre for Games Three and Four on Saturday, May 8 (7:05 p.m.) and Monday, May 10 (7:05 p.m.), respectively, at Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza. If necessary, a Game Five would be played in Philadelphia on a date yet to be determined. Game Six would be played in Wilkes-Barre on Friday, May 14 (7:05 p.m.) and a Game Seven would be played back in Philadelphia on a date yet to be determined.
The Penguins defeated the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in seven games to advance to the East Division Finals, while the Phantoms defeated the Norfolk Admirals, 3-2, tonight to win that best-of-seven East Division Semifinal series, four games to two.
The Penguins finished the regular season in third-place in the East Division with a 34-28-10-8 record (86 points). The Phantoms finished the regular season with a 46-25-7-2 record, first in the East Division with 101 points.
The Penguins finished the 2003-04 regular season with five wins, four losses and had one overtime loss in 10 meetings against Philadelphia. The Penguins were 3-2-0-0 at home against the Phantoms and had a 2-2-0-1 record in five visits to Philadelphia.
Overall, the Penguins are 18-27-3-4 lifetime against the Phantoms in 52 regular season meetings over the past five seasons. The Penguins are 8-15-1-2 lifetime against the Phantoms at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza and are 10-12-2-2 against the Phantoms in 26 trips to Philadelphia. The Penguins have a lifetime record of 10-11-2-2 against the Phantoms at the Wachovia Spectrum and a 0-1-0-0 record against them at the Wachovia Center.
This will be the second time in team history that the Penguins have faced Philadelphia in the postseason. The Penguins defeated the Phantoms in six games in the Western Conference Semifinals during the 2000-2001 season.
Tickets for the series against the Phantoms(Games D-F)are now on sale and can be purchased at the Wachovia Arena Box Office, and at all Ticketmaster locations and telephone outlets. Individual game ticket prices for the series are $35.00 (Yellow zone), $24.50 (Red zone), $21.50 (Gold zone) and $17.75 (Blue zone).

There is no service fee for tickets purchased at the Wachovia Arena Box Office.
