Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have advanced to the East Division Finals for the sixth consecutive year, and will take on the Hershey Bears for the right to play in the Eastern Conference Finals.
This will be the fifth time the teams have faced off in the Calder Cup Playoffs, and the fourth consecutive times the East Division foes will meet up. The Penguins downed the Bears in the 2001 Western Conference Finals and the 2008 East Division Semifinals, and fell to Hershey in the 2006 and 2007 East Division Finals.
The series will get underway on Saturday, May 2 in Hershey, with the first home game taking place on Wednesday, April 6 at the Wachovia Arena.
Local Penguins fans can get up close and personal with some of their favorite players this Thursday night, as the Penguins Report Radio Show returns with a LIVE broadcast from Lucky's Sporthouse. The puck drops on the show at 7:00pm, with Penguins play-by-play man Scott Stuccio serving as host.
A flock of Penguins players will be stopping by to talk about closing out the Sound Tigers and the chance to take on the Bears for the division title. Plus, the good people from Coors Light will be on hand with prizes and surprises throughout the broadcast.
If you can't make it down to the live event, be sure to tune in the show on 102.3, the Mountain, the official home for Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins games.
