SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Crunch blanked the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, 1-0, at Onondaga County War Memorial at Oncenter. Crunch goalie Cedric Desjardins stopped all 20 shots for his fifth shutout of the year.

After a scoreless first, Syracuse broke through with an early second-period goal by Philip-Michael Devos. A bouncing puck in the slot was gathered by Devos and he skated to left hashmarks before sniping the top left corner with a wrist shot at 2:01 of the middle frame.

Despite being outshot in the first two periods 19-9, the Penguins turned the tide in the third period to hold 11-8 shot advantage. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton enjoyed a host of chances in the final twenty minutes that included a backhander by Paul Thompson that rung off the crossbar and Joe Morrow's deflection shot that was turned aside by the leg pad of Desjardins.

Penguins netminder Jeff Zatkoff fell to 20-19-0 on the season despite making 26 saves on 27 shots.
