Syracuse, NY- Cedrick Desjardins and the Syracuse Crunch shut out the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins 1-0 tonight at the War Memorial Arena.

Philip-Michael Devos scored the game's only goal and Desjardins stopped all 20 shots he faced to improve the Crunch's overall record to 38-17-3-5 and record at the War Memorial to 15-9-3-3. The Crunch pace the American Hockey League with 84 points.

In the first period, Syracuse successfully killed its first of three penalties, but couldn't score during two power play opportunities. Desardins set the tone for the night, stonewalling Brian Gibbons breakaway midway through the period.

Devos scored his fifth goal of the season 2:01 in the second period. He carried the puck across the zone, cranking a wrist shot from the left dot to beat Jeff Zatkoff. Danick Gauthier and Matt Taormina were credited with the assists on Devos' goal.

Crunchables: Cedrick Desjardins has five wins since being acquired from the Montreal Canadians, three of which are shutouts... With his goal tonight Philip-Michael Devos has a point in three consecutive games...Tonight was the last regular season meeting between the Crunch and the Penguins, the Crunch won five of eight meetings.
