
Penguins Release Goaltender Doug Carr

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins announced today that they have released goaltender Doug Carr from his tryout agreement with the club. He will report to the Penguins' ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers.
Carr appeared in one preseason game with the Penguins, stopping all 19 shots faced against the Hershey Bears during two periods of play.
Last season, Carr, 27, posted a .915 save percentage, 2.77 goals against average and one shutout in 24 games with the Manchester Monarchs (ECHL). He also played in three games with the Albany Devils (AHL), recording a .897 save percentage and 2.34 goals against average in that time.
Following today's moves, the Penguins' roster now stands at 26 players.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton's next game is the 2016-17 season opener on Saturday, Oct. 15 against the Hartford Wolf Pack at Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza. Game time for the Penguins' season opener is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
