GLENVIEW, Ill. - The Chicago Wolves announced Tuesday that they signed Northbrook native Sam Povorozniouk to a standard player's contract (SPC).

In addition, goaltender Jordan Binnington has been reassigned to the Wolves from the St. Louis Blues (NHL), and defenseman Kevin Tansey has been recalled from the Missouri Mavericks (ECHL).

The 21-year-old Povorozniouk skated with Chicago during training camp on professional tryout contract. He appeared in two preseason games for the Wolves and tallied a goal.

Tansey, a former Clarkson Golden Knight, also skated with Chicago as a training camp invitee and appeared in a pair of exhibition contests.

The official Opening Night roster will be finalized on Thursday (Oct. 13).

The Wolves open the 81st AHL regular season on the road Friday, Oct. 14, in Grand Rapids. Chicago returns home the following night for the back end of a home-and-home series with the Griffins, and its first game of the 2016-17 season at Allstate Arena.
