
Syracuse Crunch Announce Details for Home Opener Presented By

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Syracuse Crunch have announced details for the 2016-17 Home Opener presented by Upstate University Hospital when the team hosts the Rochester Americans on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m.
The Crunch home opener will begin with the annual Party on the Plaza presented by Galaxy Communications from 5 to 7 p.m. Fans will have the opportunity to try their skills out at street hockey and the slap shot cage. Josh Grosvent and AJ Lenowicz from The Show on KROCK will be broadcasting live. Food and drinks will be available for purchase from local food trucks. The Party on the Plaza is free and open to all fans. Fans do not need to have a ticket to the game to attend the party.
All fans in attendance for the home opener will receive Crunch thunder sticks, courtesy of Upstate University Hospital.
The game will be highlighted by an opening ceremony featuring first responders, including firefighters, police officers and EMTs from Upstate University Hospital. The Crunch will be joined by the first responders as they accompany the team onto the ice during player introductions. To show additional appreciation for all area first responders, any firefighter, police officer and EMT who calls the Crunch office at 315-473-4444 using the code "RESPOND" or shows his or her badge at the War Memorial Arena Box Office will be able to purchase $16 tickets for Oct. 15.
Additionally, ESPN sportscaster and author Linda Cohn will participate in the opening ceremony and drop the ceremonial first puck. She will also be available for autographs in Memorial Hall during the first intermission.
The Crunch have two packages available for a VIP experience with Cohn prior to the home opener on Oct. 15. Package A, priced at $250, includes eight (8) tickets to the game and eight (8) passes to a VIP meet and greet with Cohn in Assembly Hall from 6:15 to 6:50 p.m. Package B is $125 and includes four (4) tickets to the game and four (4) passes to the VIP meet and greet.
