
Penguins recall Goaltender Dany Sabourin from Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. â The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins today recalled goaltender Dany Sabourin from their ECHL affiliate, the Wheeling Nailers.
Sabourin, 24, has appeared in four games with the Penguins this season, posting a record of 1-2-1 and a 2.39 goals against average. He was reassigned to Wheeling for the second time this season on January 11.
The 6'2", 182-pound native of Val-d'Or, Quebec has a record of 19-6-1 with a 1.67 goals against average and five shutouts in 27 games with the Nailers this season. Sabourin, who was named the stating goaltender for the National Conference team at the 2005 Coors Light ECHL All-Star Game on January 26, ranks among ECHL goaltenders in goals against average (first), shutouts (first), wins (tied for first), save percentage (second with a .942 save percentage), minutes played (fourth with 1578 minutes played), and saves (fifth with 720).
He was signed by the Penguins to an American Hockey League contract on September 25, 2004. Sabourin was originally selected by Calgary in the fifth round (108th overall) of the 1998 NHL Entry Draft.
With the roster move, the Penguins now have 25 players on their roster - three goaltenders, eight defensemen and 14 forwards. Following last night's game at Manitoba, the Penguins released goaltender Ryan Cyr from his amateur try-out agreement.
The Penguins return to action tomorrow night when they host the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:05 p.m. at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza. Approximately 122 tickets are still available for the game.
