Bears fall in Norfolk 3-1

Three third period goals for Norfolk gave the Admirals a 3-1 win Friday night at Norfolk Scope.

The two teams battled to a scoreless tie after one period of play. Norfolk fired 15 shots at Peter Budaj in the first, while the BEARS mustered just four against Admirals goaltender Michael Leighton. HERSHEY did not have a power play chance in the first twenty minutes of the contest, while the Admirals were 0-2 on the man advantage in the first. Both teams battled through the second period to a scoreless draw, with the BEARS rebounding to outshoot Norfolk 9-8 in the period.

The scoring got underway in the third period when Jeff Ulmer hammered home a rebound at the 3:43 mark to give HERSHEY a 1-0 lead. Norfolk would score the final three goals of the game to win 3-1, with lamp-lighters from Duncan Keith, Rene Bourque and Ajay Baines. The loss was the third in a row for the BEARS after a seven-game winning streak.

The BEARS take on the Philadelphia Phantoms Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. at GIANT Center. A limited number of tickets remain for the game. Tickets are available at the GIANT Center box office or by calling (717) 534-3911.
