Senators home-winning streak stretches to eight games

January 21, 2005 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Binghamton Senators News Release

The Binghamton Senators ran their franchise-record home winning streak to eight games with a 4-1 victory against the league-leading Manchester Monarchs on Friday night.

Binghamton have now won 12 of their last 15 games and find themselves only one point out of first place in the East Division thanks to a three-point night by Jason Spezza and another superb performance by the Senators power play.

It was the Monarchs who got on the board first though with a power-play goal from former Senator Brad Smyth at 3:35 of the first period.

After the early setback the Senators dominated the second period. Rookie Brandon Bochenski scored his sixteenth goal of the season at 5:21 of the period. Jason Spezza and Antoine Vermette added power-play goals to take a 3-1 lead into the second intermission.

Josh Langfeld scored the game's final goal at 15:24 of the third period on a beautiful passing play set up by Denis Hamel and Charlie Stephens.

Ray Emery made 23 saves on 24 shots to earn his thirteenth win of the season. The loss dropped Adam Hauser to 10-4-0 as he made 26 saves on 30 shots.

The B-Sens head north tonight for a game with the St. John's Maple Leafs in Ottawa tomorrow evening. You can catch all of the action beginning at 6:35pm on 680-AM WINR.
