
Penguins Out Distance Pirates

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, PA - Chris Lee scored a goal and two assists to lead the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins to a 6-1 win over the Portland Pirates in an American Hockey League game played tonight at the Wachovia Arena.
Brian Strait, Keven Veilleux, Luca Caputi, Zach Sill and Eric Tangradi also scored for the Penguins while Dustin Jeffrey collected two assists. The Penguins improved to 7-4-1-1 with the win.
Mark Mancari netted the lone Pirates goal, spoiling John Curry's shutout bid with less than three minutes remaining in regulation. Portland dropped to 5-10 on the campaign.
The Penguins led 2-0 after one and 3-0 heading into the third.
J.P. Lamoureux started and took the loss for the Pirates allowing six goals on 32 shots.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton out shot the Pirates 32-18 in the game.
The Allied Home Mortgage three stars of the game were all from the Penguins. Lee was the first, Curry the second and Strait the third.
The Pirates continue a three-game road trip tomorrow night when they travel to HSBC Arena in Buffalo to take on the Rochester Americans at 7 p.m. The game can be heard live on News Talk WLOB 95.5 FM and on-line at www.portlandpirates.com beginning with the pre-game show at 6:45 p.m. The Pirates road trip will end Sunday afternoon in Bridgeport against the Sound Tigers.
