
Penguins acquire Ratchuk from Aeros

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have acquired defenseman Peter Ratchuk on loan from the Houston Aeros/Minnesota Wild, it was announced on Thursday.
Ratchuk, 29, has 21 points (5+16) in 50 games with the Aeros this season, placing him in a tie for eighth on the team in points and fourth in assists.
The 6-1, 200 pound native of Buffalo previously suited up for the Penguins during the 2001-02 season, recording 39 points (16+23) in 75 games.
A first round pick (25th overall) by the Colorado Avalanche in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, Ratchuk has appeared in 32 NHL games with the Florida Panthers, recording two points (1+1) and 10 penalty minutes.
Ratchuk has played in 388 career AHL games with the Penguins, Aeros, New Haven, Louisville and Rochester, recording 163 points (53+110) and 386 penalty minutes.
He also played three seasons in Germany with the Frankfurt Lions and Mannheim Eagles, recording 115 points (43+72) in 155 games.
