Pensacola Pelicans News Release

With youth baseball and softball currently in full swing, the Pelicans Training Academy announces today the addition of Bryan Lewallyn to the instructing staff as a new pitching coach.

Lewallyn joins the Training Academy from Pro Day Baseball located in Orange Beach, AL. The Pensacola native was an instructor, evaluator, and pitching coach with Pro Day from 2001 to 2008.

"Bryan will be a nice addition to our staff at the Academy," said Pelicans Manager Mac Seibert. "He has a good knowledge of the game, having learned a lot from his father Dennis Lewallyn."

Dennis Lewallyn was a pitcher in the Major Leagues for eight seasons, mostly with the Los Angeles Dodgers. While with Los Angeles, Lewallyn played along side Pensacola great Don Sutton. Dennis is now the double-A pitching coach for the Chicago Cubs.

In addition to instructing baseball, last year Bryan Lewallyn worked with the New Orleans Zephyrs' front office, the triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets.

To schedule lessons with Lewallyn or for more information on the Pelicans Training Academy, interested parties can call 850-332-6274 or visit www.pelicanstrainingacademy.com.
