Salem RidgeYaks News Release

For every Avalanche rally, Myrtle Beach had an answer, and the Pelicans defeated Salem 9-8 in ten innings on Wednesday Night.

With the game tied at 8, Pelicans 1B Greg Creek doubled off of the left field wall to lead off the tenth inning. After a sacrifice bunt moved him to third base, a two-out RBI single by 2B Matt Young brought home Creek to put Myrtle Beach ahead for good.

Salem enjoyed a great offensive performance from DH Scott Robinson, who went 3-for-6 with three-RBI and two runs scored.

With the win the Pelicans now have a 4-1 record in extra inning games and a 10-2 record in one run games.

The final game of the series is Thursday Night as the Avalanche take on Myrtle Beach at 7:07 pm. It will be Friends and Family Night at the park sponsored by Bud Light and WROV. All beverages will be $1 dollar.
