The Pelicans, who already clinched the Carolina League South First-Half title, now stand at 39-25 going into tomorrow's final game of the first half. Kannapolis fell to 34-30 with the loss.
It was an efficient night at the plate for the Birds as they turned nine hits into nine runs. Juan Mora (2-4, 3 RBI) led the team with a pair of singles and three runs driven in. Arias struck out the first two Cannon Ballers in the bottom of the fifth before Scarlyn Lebron came out of the bullpen. After giving up a walk, Camilletti lined a single up the middle to score a run and bring the score to 4-2.
Kannapolis made it a one-run game in the bottom of the seventh. With two outs and a runner at first, Camilletti smashed his second hit of the night on a double to left as the run scored to make it a 4-3 Pelicans advantage.
