Myrtle Beach Pelicans News Release
FREDERICK, Md. - Myrtle Beach and Frederick played five scoreless innings in Saturday's doubleheader opener before rain caused the game to be suspended heading into the sixth inning. The contest will resume Sunday at 6 p.m. from Nymeo Field at Harry Grove Stadium, with Sunday's scheduled contest, a nine-inning affair, following immediately after.
Myrtle Beach's Bryan Hudson threw five shutout innings, allowing just one hit while facing the minimum due to a double play. He struck out five and did not walk a batter.
On the other side, Zac Lowther tossed five shutout innings for Frederick, striking out eight, while also allowing just one hit.
Following the completion of Saturday's suspended game, which begins at 4:30 p.m., the two clubs will play a full nine-inning contest. RHP Alex Lange (6-8, 3.73 ERA) will start for Myrtle Beach while the Keys will send RHP Cody Sedlock (0-2, 10.05) to the mound. Coverage begins at 4:15 on MyrtleBeachPelicans.com/Broadcast, the MiLB First Pitch app and TuneIn.
The second game of the twin bill was canceled. Thus, the two teams will finish the season with one game on Monday at 2 p.m.
