Pelech to Play in Subway Super Series

The Erie Otters have announced that defenseman Adam Pelech has been selected to represent the Ontario Hockey League at the 2012 Subway Super Series Monday, November 12 against Team Russia in Sarnia, Ontario.

Pelech leads Otters defensemen with nine points in 12 games, and is tied for the team lead in penalty minutes with 26. The 2012 third round draft pick of the New York Islanders has represented Team Canada on several occasions, most recently at the Canada/Russia Challenge in August.

The Otters are no stranger to the Subway Super Series, with five players having played in the exhibition since 2004. Ryan O'Reilly, Ryan O'Marra, Mike Blunden and Greg McKegg have played for Team OHL while Ramis Sadikov has represented team Russia.

The Fifth Annual Hockey for the Hungry presented by Eriez Magnetics is Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. Bring a non-perishable food item and get into the game against the Saginaw Spirit for $2. All proceeds will go to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest Pennsylvania. Hockey for the Hungry is the first of seven Wendy's Big Assist Wednesdays.
